BO joined the Progression into Employment Programme at Project Colt with two clear goals: to find meaningful work and to build new connections within her community. As an amputee facing mobility challenges, BO initially feared that her disability might limit her ability to fully engage with the programme or progress toward employment.
However, within just a few weeks, BO experienced a significant boost in confidence. Supported by the inclusive environment and encouragement from staff and peers, she began to recognise her strengths and capabilities.
Her commitment and growth led to an opportunity with one of Project Colt’s partner charities, Food for Families, which operates on-site. BO is now employed one day a week as a cleaner and plays a vital role in supporting the charity’s mission.
In addition to her cleaning duties, she also assists in the preparation of over 200 cooked meals each week, helping to provide essential support to low-income families in the local area.
