BB, a prison leaver, faced significant barriers to rebuilding his life after release, particularly in finding stable employment and a sense of purpose. Struggling to reintegrate into society, he was introduced to Project Colt and enrolled in the 12-week Progression into Employment Programme. During the course, BB developed practical skills, improved his confidence, and began to see a path forward.
Recognising his commitment and growth, Project Colt invited BB to remain involved as a volunteer after the programme ended. This role gave him the opportunity to further apply his learning, gain valuable experience, and stay connected to a supportive community.
BB’s dedication and transformation did not go unnoticed. He successfully secured employment at Rusty’s Coffee Club, where he now works as both a chef and barista. He has spoken openly about how the programme was a turning point in his life—helping him build self-belief, develop a routine, and work towards a future he once thought was out of reach.
Today, BB is not only employed but thriving. His journey stands as a powerful example of how the right support, training, and encouragement can help individuals overcome past challenges and build a brighter future.
